Amherst Animal Hospital

Modern Medicine. Traditional values.

Meet your care team!

Over the years, your pets have become like family to not only our doctors, but to everyone on our team including our client service representatives, technicians and assistants!

Client service:

Our client service representatives are the first people you will see when you come in to see us as well as who will be assisting you on the phone when you call in! They are always happy to help in any way that they can and direct you to who can help when necessary!

Gail:

Gail has been with us for many years and will most likely be a familiar face to most of you! She has been in the veterinary field for over 30 years and after many years as a technician, you will now find her behind our front desk! She is a proud great-aunt and enjoys horseback riding, pet sitting and spending time with friends and family in her free time!

Kai:

Kai started in 2020 during one of the most difficult periods in veterinary medicine! We are glad they stuck it out and made it through the dreaded Covid years. Kai is a dedicated cat parent to their kitties, Scarecrow and Cedar and spends free time playing with them as well as dancing and has been known to put on quite the show at karaoke!

Erin:

After a 15-year break, Erin re-joined us in 2022 and we are glad she did as she has been an asset to our client service team. Erin is a dedicated mom to her human children as well as her fur-babies! You will likely hear her baby-talking to your pets while you wait for your appointment as she cannot help saying hi to the furry friends that come through our door!

Technicians:

Our technicians are responsible for all kinds of things including but not limited to assisting with your vet in your well and sick exams, surgeries and procedures, taking radiographs, administering vaccines and collecting blood and other samples from your pet in addition to communicating treatment plans and educating clients on anything they may need to know about their pets.

Jean, CVT:

Jean is our most senior technician and is coming up on her 31st year at AAH! She is a dedicated surgery technician and can be found most of the time in our surgery department where she is essential in assisting in surgeries as well as helping to train our technicians and assistants as they navigate through their careers in veterinary medicine. When she is not with us, she enjoys baking, gardening, hunting and fishing!

Byrony, CVT:

Byrony has been with us for over 10 years! You will find her in surgery as well as in outpatient appointments where she is most utilized for her knowledge and skills in the field as well as her ability to lighten any mood.  When she is not here at AAH, she can be found spending time with her beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Piper or spending time with friends and family! You may hear her laugh at any point echo throughout the hospital!

Jesse:

Jesse has been with us since he was in high school as one of our student ward technicians to now 7+ years later is one of our most trusted technicians. You will often find him running our technician appointments as well as with our doctors or training new staff. He is a dedicated dog dad to his two boys, Parker and Marcel and enjoys hiking with them and spending time with loved ones in his free time.

Bri:

Bri has been with us since 2021 and has quickly become an asset to our team. You will find her assisting in surgeries as well as in our lab assisting in outpatient appointments! She is a dedicated mom to her two beautiful children as well as her Dachshund, Bentley! In her time away from us she can be found running around with her kids and spending quality time with her family, friends and loved ones!

Kiersten:

Kiersten is someone you may see in multiple areas of the hospital! In addition to the front desk, you will see her in appointments with our doctors as well as technician appointments. When she is not at work, she is enjoying her time at home with her two beautiful daughters and handsome new baby boy!

Student and technician assistants:

Our ward staff is responsible for taking care of all of our in-hospital patients as well as our boarders. Taking dogs for walks, cleaning cages, assisting technicians and doctors and general hospital upkeep. They are our eyes and ears of our in-hospital patients and essential at keeping all of your beloved companions as happy and comfortable as possible while they are here with us!

Management

McKayla:

After initially starting with us as a Client Service Representative in 2018, McKayla has worked her way around the hospital in various positions but has now settled into her new position as our Hospital Manager. You may recognize her from her years at the front desk as well as one of our technicians. She can be found now either in her office, or where she would prefer to be, around the hospital assisting where she can and spending time with patients and clients, finding ways to still be hands-on. She is also our on-site emergency technician and checks on patients that are in hospital overnight. When she is not here with us (and sometimes when she is) she can be found chasing her son, Elliot. He is a vibrant little boy that may be seen around the hospital from time to time. When she is not at work, she and her son enjoy spending time with their dogs, Mavis, Luther and cat Floyd as well as hosting kid friendly game nights with friends!

Nancy:

Nancy has been with us for over 30 years and is in charge of many behind the scenes duties here at AAH. She is crucial in her position as our ward's supervisor and is in charge of managing all of our student technicians and ward technicians in addition to working with a lot of our reps and ordering. You may see her when admitting your pets for boarding or handling any hospital maintenance. She loves spending time with the animals, and we are lucky to have had her here over the last 30+ years. In addition to being a dedicated employee, she is a loving mother of two adult children and enjoys spending time with them and traveling to watch her daughter play professional baseball!
